If you know us then you know how to get in contact with us on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ as well as good old fashioned txt, phone or even face to face communication (yes, we still do that from time to time).

So from me, and from her, goodnight.

What a day. We spent last night in the Weymouth B+B, a very simple bed and breakfast on the sea front. I had driven to Weymouth Sunday with Toni, Ryan and Mum, only took about an hour and a half. Result.

Anyway, the B&B was pretty awesome, free WiFi, free tea and coffee, free mineral water, a lounge with a fantastic view of the waterfront and a great breakfast as it turns out. Toni didn’t sleep so well, but I put that more down to nerves than anything else.

We got up with the parks and after brekkie we headed over to the ferry terminal and border the ferry, which actually left a little early, probably because one of the engines was knackered and wasn’t running on full power, but we had all the time in the world, so really no biggie.

It was a long old trip and we got in to Jersey at about 13:45(ish) on a trip scheduled to arrive at 12:30, but it was no skin off our noses, but we did get a shed load of young schoolgirls pile on in Guernsey, although I could swear Toni arranged for it as a test. Hmmm.

When we arrived we were a caught a little off guard by the lack of, well, anything near the ferry terminal and ended up following the school, which by then we had noticed had about 6 boys in (they must have been outnumbered 3 to 1 – I’d have loved those odds when I was back in school), to see if they knew where they were going and knew where the rest of civilisation had gotten to.

They ended up in Pizza Hut, so we gave up hope and went in to the KFC next door, where we would have a chance of being served this millennium (turns out the Colonel himself was in there too, so that solves the mystery of where he disappeared to).

The kind folks in KFC (or so we thought at the time) also gave us the number for a taxi so we could get to the guest house we’re staying in tonight. After what can only have been a 5 mile journey and a charge of 21 quid we vowed to work out the island’s bus system.

So having unpacked we ventured down the pub for a pint. The Black Dog. Very nice indeed. We had a quick look around afterwards at what I can only describe as a bloody massive brick pier (14 meters high and built in 1827 according to the blurb on a plaque). Impressively big and almost certainly larger than necessary. Lovely.

After wandering back we were getting a bit peckish so went back to the pub for a quick bite. Little bit pricey, but sod it we’re on honeymoon. You only get to do it once (well I have).

When the grub arrived I can say in all honesty that Toni’s eyes lit up. A toad in the hole bigger than her own head was placed in front of her, which itself had been placed on a giant Yorkshire.

After a decent attempt, a broken and sweating lady finally admitted defeat. It was simply too much. Even the lass who brought it over said it had been a particularly generous portion. A valiant effort, but if you go to the Dog, then for gods sake take a big appetite with you.

As we were walking back I could see some spray on the rocks so we popped over to have another look at the pier and it turns out they hadn’t built it stupidly big, as only a meter or 2 was still above the water-line. With that we were showered with cold water. And there I was wondering why the ground was so wet.

We’re back at the guest house now so I will end this mammoth post and get back to my wife, it’s been a good day so far. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Hopefully during all the chaos we haven’t forgotten to invite too many people. I just know that once all’s said and done someone will have been left out, so if it’s you, please do speak now, or forever hold your peace.

It’s not going to be the full church do that springs to mind when you think of weddings, but as Toni has already had that and I would find it somewhat hypocritical to do that anyway.

Next thing you know we’ll have the rings and will be walking up the aisle and it’ll all be over.

Toni is in full on organisation mode now. There are lists for everything (I’m sure somewhere she’s writing a list of all the lists she’s written) and everything is starting to come together. Invitations haven’t been sent out yet, there’s still a few important details we’re finalising, but once that’s done there’s no looking back.

This is definitely going to be what you’d call a wedding on a budget (I think we’re still under the £500 mark at the moment) but it’s gonna be the best one I’ve ever had (and hopefully Toni’s last!).

Now he’s running around like a mad thing with a massive smile on his face, ripping open presents and cards with gay abandon, quite a change from the tiny little ball of wrinkles and legs that first presented himself to us all.

After breakfast we’re off for a fun (and hopefully tiring) day out to celebrate, but for now it’s Thomas T. Tankengine over toast.
